Seagulls – queens of the Baltic Sea. Discovering the Baltic Sea part 2
Seagulls, just like Terramar 🙂 – perform on water, land and in air!
These birds are versatile, they fly perfectly – reaching speeds of up to 110 km/h, they swim well and can sleep on the water, they walk and run well on land, and even stomp – it’s their way of luring worms out of the sand!
Seagulls are exceptionally clever: to break the shells of tasty oysters, they throw them in front of oncoming cars, in order not to work too hard, they deliberately guide larger predators towards other animals and then join in the feast, in winter, instead of sitting on the cold ice, they jump on the backs of swans.
And finally, a culinary trick:
The Inuit, living in the arctic and subarctic areas, make wine from seagulls – pieces of their meat are mixed with water and exposed to the sun so that the drink ferments.
